Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our team. As a Psychiatric Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive care and support to patients with mental health conditions. Responsibilities: - Conduct physical examinations and assessments of patients with mental health conditions - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by psychiatrists or physicians - Monitor patients' progress and response to treatment plans - Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans - Provide counseling and support to patients and their families - Educate patients on mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record systems (e.g., Athenahealth) - Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and maintain aseptic technique during procedures - Perform phlebotomy and other laboratory procedures as needed - Assist with family planning and reproductive health counseling Qualifications: - Valid nursing license in the state of practice - Proven experience working in psychiatric or mental health settings - Strong knowledge of psychiatric medications, treatments, and interventions - Familiarity with coding systems for psychiatric diagnoses (e.g., DSM-V) - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals with mental health conditions - Proficient in using electronic health record systems (e.g., Athenahealth) - Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
